On July 17, 2008 at the premises of Tower 3 of the Business Club of San Isidro, The Global Alliance for Distributed Energy: World Alliance for Decentralized Energy (Wade) made his official presentation in Peru organized the first International Conference on "Cogeneration and energy efficiency. "This event was conducted by a joint team Wade Peru and the Peruvian Committee of the World Energy Council (WEC Peru). Also, we appreciate the support given by companies Suez Energy, Siemens and Turbomach.

The conference was conducted with a full programme with the participation of senior officials from the ministries of energy in the United States, Italy, Peru, senior Wade and Wade Peru, the Peruvian Committee of the World Council of Energy and businesses Sudamericana de Fibras, Suez Energy, Siemens and Turbomach.

The aim of the conference was to present the need for increased participation of distributed energy technologies, disseminate related laws and regulations on cogeneration and energy efficiency, promote savings and efficient use of energy and cogeneration submit successful experiences in Peru, available technologies.

David Sweet, Executive Director Wade presented the global products and services of local Wade; his work promoting the use of energy distributed, cogeneration systems and economic model that calculates Wade the impact of energy distributed in comparison with centralized generation. Katharine Fierro, Manager Wade Peru, presented the results of the study on "Potential cogeneration technologies in Peru. The study found that in Peru there is a technological potential of 547 MW cogeneration (78% industry, mining 13%, refinero 9% and services 4%) and U.S. $ 973.15 million (business opportunity for banks, providers Equipe, industrialists, consultants, and EMSEs ESCOs).

The attendance of the conference was successful by demonstrating the high interest of companies, suppliers, customers and government to promote and develop co-generation technologies with natural gas to accelerate the shift of the Peruvian energy matrix which translates to savings in time for users and greater energy efficiency.

As a result of meetings with suppliers has identified a new line of business for cogeneration systems with micro turbines, to meet the unmet demand for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Peru.
